This month, make a donation …
… of any gently used ladies business attire at our neighborhood Bibbentuckers, 11741 Preston. They will dry clean it for free, and then donate it to Attitudes & Attire, a nonprofit that helps women in need become self-sufficient. Dress slacks and skirts, crisp blouses, blazers, scarves, handbags, and office-appropriate maternity wear are always needed.
Or make a purchase…
… at Next Stop Thrift Shore, 810 W. Arapaho, where a portion of proceeds benefits local charities, like The Network, and neighborhood churches, like Richardson East Church of Christ. Owner Brenda Capuano says she’s always willing to help a Far North Dallas neighbor or group in need. “If a family loses everything in a fire, I can donate some furnishings. Or if there is an elderly person who needs a walker, I can give them one. If someone knows a neighbor who needs help, come see me — if there’s a way that I can help, I will do it.” Capuano also welcomes donations of all sorts, and any volunteer help running the store.
