Richardson ’09 grads Jacky Slanely and Eric Fein have spent the past three months shooting a documentary about Texas Voice Project, a non-profit that helps people with Parkinson Disease. You might remember reading about the neighborhood-run program here in Advocate a few months ago.
The students recently premiered their video for neighbors at the Texas Voice Project therapy center in Richardson. You can watch their short yet very poignant documentary here after the jump.
After the screening, Richardson mom and Texas Voice Project founder Samantha Elandary surprised the kids with a $500 scholarship for each of them. Here, Elandary and the kids are with Richardson Mayor Pro-Tem Bob Townsend, and Richardson Mayor Gary Slagel.
Congrats to these budding filmmakers for using their talents in the name of a very good cause.
