… at Summertree Animal Clinic, 12300 Inwood, or Studio Extreme Tanning, 13344 Preston. Both of these businesses are selling 2010 calendars that benefit Golden Retriever Rescue of North Texas. The calendar features photos and stories of golden retrievers that have been helped by the volunteer organization, which is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of these dogs. All proceeds from calendar sales are used to defray veterinary expenses of the golden retrievers entering the rescue program. Calendars can also be purchased at goldenretrievers.org.
Donate something …
… to the North Dallas Shared Ministries. This interfaith nonprofit helps neighbors in need by providing food, medical care and clothes. The group annually depends on $750,000 worth of donated food and hygiene items, like milk, bread, deodorant and toothpaste. The clothes closet also accepts small appliances, bedding, linens and household items. All donations can be dropped off at 2875 Merrell, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., or Saturday, 9 a.m.-noon.
