Restaurant talk: Bacci’s Pizza & Pasta

At Bacci’s, the secret is in the sauce. Not even the cooks know what’s in it. Christopher Bacci, the born-and-bred New Yorker who owns this Addison pizzeria, makes almost everything himself, using old family recipes.

Bacci’s is run by the same owners of Lovers Pizza and Pasta down in Highland Park and Lakewood. One HP couple drives all the up to Addison because, “that one’s really good, and this one’s a little better.”

Here, you can get giant slices of pizza (and by giant, I mean, you have to pick it up with both hands) for just over $2 and homemade pasta dishes like lasagna or spaghetti for just $6.99. For lunch, you can get a slice with one topping, the salad topped with a delicious house vinaigrette plus drink for $5.50.

But aside from the amount of food you get for the price, Bacci’s also has a nice neighborhood vibe, and the owners like to get to know their customers. Oh and, it’s BYOB, which isn’t something you see a lot of in Addison, where everyone goes to drink. At Bacci’s, it’s all about the food.
