Pearce alum plans Jam For Jackson

Jam for Jackson small 194x300 Pearce alum plans Jam For JacksonDrew Cotten was still in elementary school when his 10-year-old cousin, Jackson Hill, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. By the time Jackson’s valiant fight ended 19 months later, Drew was an 8th grader at Parkhill Junior High. He’d watched his little buddy deal with chemo, leg amputation, lung surgeries and drug trials, never giving up and never losing his giant smile.

Today, with his freshman year at SMU complete, Drew is putting together a concert to honor his cousin and raise money for the Jackson Hill Foundation. Jam For Jackson will be held this Friday, June 3rd at the Amphitheater at Oak Point Park in Plano. Featured bands include Sleeperstar, Jillian Edwards and Jared Schwartz, and Drew’s friends from the J.J. Pearce High School pop group Forte will perform.

“The musical acts are fantastic, the venue is beautiful and the cause is worthy,” said Drew, who’s planned everything down to the smallest detail, including concert posters and t-shirt designs.

The concert begins at 7 pm Friday night, and you can purchase tickets online here. You can email Drew here to get more info or give him encouragement, or you can really encourage him by donating here.
