The Dallas Business Journal reports that property owners around the Galleria and Valley View Center are in talks for a more long-term redevelopment plan that would affect the entire area bound by LBJ, Preston, Alpha and the Dallas North Tollway.
Lots of speculation has been swirling around the possible plans for the declining Valley View shopping center, but this could have an even bigger impact.
The group, referred to as the Valley View Galleria Group, also includes the nearby car dealership owners and the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce.
There’s concern about whether more retail would work in the Valley View area since surrounding strip malls aren’t exactly thriving either. But the group’s plan may include mix-use and green space – comparable to what’s happening with the closely-followed Lake Highlands Town Center, says District 11 councilman Linda Koop.
It’s all still in the beginning stages, but there are lots of scenarios – share your thoughts on what you think is the best one. And stay tuned for updates here on the blog.
