Valley View foreclosure auction delayed

The aging Valley View Center was supposed to be sold to the highest bidder at Dallas County’s foreclosure auction on Tuesday, but the lenders pulled it from the table. The auction may be reposted for March 6, the Dallas Business Journal reports.

Appraised at $32.9 million, the mall went into receivership in 2010. Once the property is sold, the building will be demolished to make way for the redevelopment of the 430 acres from Preston to the Dallas North Tollway and Alpha to LBJ Freeway. The stakeholders known as the Valley View Galleria Group are working on hiring HKS Architects to hammer out a clear vision.

It’s not uncommon for large, highly visible big-ticket properties like Valley View to be delayed at auction several times.
