The League of Women Voters of Richardson and the RISD Council of PTAs will host a meet-and-greet with candidates 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26 at the RISD Professional Development Center to bring everyone up to speed on eight of our local elections.
At the event you can ask questions of the candidates, pick up campaign materials, register to vote and look at new district maps, including the Dallas County Commissioner District 1 which was re-mapped during re-districting.
For the other races, I’ll point to the Texas Tribune, which has very handy online maps of each district and who’s running where. For the May primary we have:
- Texas Senate District 8 with Ken Paxton (R), Jack G.B. Ternan Jr.(D) and Ed Kless (L)
- Texas Senate District 16 with John Carona(R) and Jared Leiman (L)
- Texas House District 67 with Jeff Leach (R), Jon Cole (R), John Pitchford (R), Roger Burns (R)and Merideth Akers (R)
- Texas House District 102 with incumbent Stefani Carter (R), Rich Hancock (D) and Michael Joseph Spanos (G)
- Texas House District 112 going uncontested with incumbent Angie Chen Button (R)
- Texas House District 114 with Bill Keffer (R), David Boone (R), Jason Villalba (R) and Carol Kent (D)
- State Board of Education District 12 with incumbent George M. Clayton (R), Pam Little (R), Geraldine Miller (R), Gail Spurlock (R) and Lois Parrott (D)
