Here’s a round-up of area events celebrating Fourth of July. All of the events are free.
Addison’s Kaboom Town fireworks show is 5 p.m.-midnight Tuesday in Addison Circle Park. It’s been rated as one of the top fireworks displays in the nation. The 30-minute show is choreographed to music and features a Cavanaugh Flight Museum Warbird Flyover. You can see the spectacle from anywhere in Addison – most restaurants are hosting watch parties. Word of advice to those not planning to attend: Do not get caught in the post-show traffic. Last year, the gridlock extended east past Preston.
Grab your lawn chairs and catch a North Dallas parade. Four neighboring HOAs – Estates West, Holiday Park, Prestonwood East and Highlands North – host their annual Fourth of July parade and picnic at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The parade starts at Fellowship Bible Church and ends at Bowie Elementary for hot dogs and lemonade, a dunking booth and other activities.
The Richardson Family Fourth is at 6-10:15 p.m. Wednesday in Breckenridge Park, featuring a fireworks show and a concert by the Richardson Community Band. Other activities include balloon artists, bounce houses and a climbing wall.
