The specialty coffee shop Pearl Cup is opening a location in II Creeks Plaza at Custer and Lookout in Richardson. It’s set to open in late August or early September.
This is the shop’s first move outside the city. Pearl Cup started on Henderson Avenue before opening a second location in Downtown. It also will open in the upcoming Sylvan | Thirty development in Oak Cliff by 2013.
Pearl Cup prides itself on ethically sourced coffee, green building practices and other sustainable commitments. The shop was founded in 2007 by Carlene Saelg and Rita Davis.
The II Creeks location makes sense. The area is active with the Four Seasons Farmers Market about every weekend, and the shopping center often hosts live music events. Pearl Cup’s expansion is likely good news for those in Canyon Creek neighborhood.
In a press release, Davis said, “The demand for Pearl Cup Coffee to head north has been tremendous since our beginning and I am so excited to have the opportunity to become an integral part of a neighborhood mindful of having locally owned businesses.”
