1 Sushi Axiom
This local favorite recently opened another location in the space formerly occupied by Cyclone Anaya’s in Addison. Everything down to the sauces and dressings is prepared in-house. The Tower of Pisa is a fun option. It’s stacked high with spicy tuna, crab, avocado, cucumber and sushi rice, drizzled with wasabi cream, spicy mustard and other sauces.

2 Sushi Yokohama
Located farther north in a nondescript strip shopping center, this spot probably isn’t on most people’s radar for great sushi, but it should be. Try any of the specialty rolls, such as the deep-fried sumo roll. Don’t skip a house salad, which comes with the restaurant’s homemade ginger dressing.

3 C Rolls Sushi
When you’re craving raw fish but don’t want to pay the upscale price, try C Rolls, which offers a few basic rolls for around $6 each. Its versions of the run-of-the-mill Philadelphia, yellowtail and spicy tuna rolls are surprisingly tasty.

4 Hibashi
Stop by 5-7 p.m. on a Monday or Tuesday for sushi roll specials starting at $3, plus free sweet potato fries. Got a late-night hankering? Hibashi stays open until 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
