To be entertained with a musical based around more than 40 of the greatest pop songs ever, catch the opening of “Smokey Joe’s Café” this Friday at the Water Tower Theatre. In this production, Broadway’s longest running musical revue, you’ll hear hits like “Jailhouse Rock,” “Fools Fall in Love” and “Stand By Me.” Along with the premiere this weekend, the theater will display artwork from the Southwest Gallery.
For a kid-friendly outing, the American Girl Store at the Galleria will host an American Girl McKenna Fun Day 2-4 p.m. Saturday. At the Westin Galleria Hotel, you and your little one can catch a free viewing of “McKenna Shoots for the Stars.”
Give a little by supporting Autism Speaks and FelCor’s Mardi GrAutism IV “On Broadway” Sunday at the Westin Park Central. The festival features live entertainment, cocktails, food and dancing. The costume theme this year is “On Broadway” to pay tribute to a number of plays. General admission is $50, and VIP tickets go for $125. All proceeds from ticket admissions go directly to Autism Speaks.
